- Accessibility: We prioritize making Satluj available to viewers across India and the world, especially those in Punjab and Rajasthan who have embraced the film as a cultural touchstone.
Our History
Satluj began as a passion project titled Ghallughara, directed by Honey Trehan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies with MacGuffin Pictures. Starring Diljit Dosanjh as Jaswant Singh Khalra, alongside Arjun Rampal, Kanwaljit Singh, and Suvinder Vicky, the film faced a three-year battle with the CBFC, which demanded up to 127 cuts, a title change to Punjab '95, and objections to references of Khalra's name and police violence. The makers withdrew from theatrical release and canceled its 2023 TIFF premiere. On July 3, 2026, the film finally premiered uncut on ZEE5 under the title Satluj, but was abruptly removed for Indian viewers on July 5, 2026, due to lack of required certification. Despite this, the film achieved a 9.4 IMDb rating and sparked a viral movement of public screenings and digital sharing, cementing its place as one of the most talked-about Indian films of the year. Our platform emerged from this movement, dedicated to ensuring that Satluj — a story of courage and resistance — continues to reach every viewer who seeks it.
